Neri Building & Development is seeking motivated individuals to join our team as an
Entry-Level Construction Laborer / Tradesman Apprentice .
No extensive construction experience is required. We are willing to train the right person. This position is designed for someone who wants to
learn the construction industry, develop multiple skilled trades, and build a long-term career. You will work alongside experienced tradesmen and equipment operators while gaining hands-on experience across many different types of construction projects.
Unlike a traditional laborer position, you will not be assigned to one type of work every day. Our employees move between projects and trades based on the work underway, giving you the opportunity to develop into a well-rounded construction professional.
Trades You Will Learn You will have the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in:
- Concrete – forming, pouring, flatwork, slabs, stamped and decorative concrete
- Excavation & Site Work – site preparation, drainage, grading, trenching, utilities, and foundations
- Heavy Equipment – exposure to excavators, mini excavators, skid steers, loaders, and other equipment
- Carpentry – framing, doors, windows, trim, decks, and general carpentry
- New Home Construction
- Home Additions & Renovations
- Commercial Construction
- Demolition & Site Preparation
- General Construction & Property Improvements
As your skills and experience grow, you will be given opportunities to take on more advanced work and responsibility.
Responsibilities - Assist experienced tradesmen with daily construction activities
- Prepare jobsites, tools, equipment, and materials
- Assist with concrete forming, placement, and finishing
- Assist carpenters with framing and general construction
- Assist excavation and site-work crews
- Load, unload, move, and organize construction materials
- Use hand and power tools safely
- Perform demolition and jobsite preparation
- Learn proper measurements, layouts, grades, and construction methods
- Maintain clean and organized jobsites
- Clean and maintain company tools and equipment
- Follow instructions from foremen, project managers, and experienced tradesmen
- Move between different crews and project types as company needs change
- Follow all company safety procedures
Qualifications Construction experience is helpful but not required. More importantly, we are looking for someone who:
- Wants to learn a skilled trade
- Is dependable and shows up to work on time
- Is willing to work hard and learn
- Takes direction and accepts constructive feedback
- Is comfortable working outdoors and performing physical construction work
- Is willing to learn multiple trades rather than performing only one type of work

- Has a valid driver's license
- Wants an opportunity to advance within the construction industry
This Is More Than a Laborer Position Our goal is to develop motivated employees into
skilled construction tradesmen and equipment operators. You may start by assisting an experienced concrete finisher, carpenter, or equipment operator. As you demonstrate reliability and develop your skills, you will be taught increasingly advanced tasks and given greater responsibility.
Someone who starts in this position could ultimately develop skills in
carpentry, concrete finishing, excavation, equipment operation, site development, and general construction. Career Growth We believe the best tradesmen are developed through real-world experience.
